Hyderabad blasts: 1 person arrested
Hyderabad, Aug 26: One person was today arrested who had allegedly assisted the terrorists in yesterday's twin bomb blasts here, which claimed more than 40 lives.
Police said the local intelligence teams apprehended Mushtak Ahmed at Bibi Nagar, about 60 km from here. He had allegedly supplied small steel balls, commonly used in ball bearings of bicycles, to the terrorists. The steel balls are one of the key substances, which trigger blasts of high intensity.
The arrested accomplice of the terrorists was running a chicken centre in Bibi Nagar. Five cases were also registered against him at Bhovanagiri police station.
Meanwhile, three more persons, who were running cycle shops in Bibi Nagar, were also questioned. They were identified as Khajamoinuddin, Mobin and Sham. The trio were close to Mushtak Ahmed, the arrested accommplice.
Police suspect that Mushtak Ahmed had supplied the balls to the terrorists by procuring them from cycle shops in Bibi Nagar. Police were interrogating the arrested person to find out his links with the terrorist groups and his role in Saturday's blasts.
