One killed, 12 injured in road mishap

Hoshiarpur, Aug 26 (UNI) A truck driver was killed and 12 passengers of a private transport bus were injured when the two vehicles collided head-on with each other at Uchi Bassi on Jalandhar-Pathankot road today.

All the injured were admitted in Civil Hospital, Dasuya, police said.

The deceased was identified as Balwinder Singh of Naru Nangal village.

The injured were identified as Tarsem Lal of Marota (Pathankot), Saroj and Kamala, both of Gambowal, Rakesh Dhianu, Gurinderpreet Singh and Sumita of Uchi Bassi, Kuljit Kaur of Chack Bamu, Sukhpreet Kaur of Salempur (Tanda), Rimpi, Kaushyala, Khiatri and Yaddi, all of Dasuya.

According to the police sources, the bus was going to Gurdaspur from Mohali via Dasuya and the truck was coming from Pathankot side.
