National workshop on 'Clean Development Mechanism' in city

Hyderabad, Aug 26 (UNI) Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) Director General Gayatri Ramachandran said a two-day national workshop on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) would be organised on August 30 and 31 in the city.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday Ms Gayatri said the objective of workshop, sponsored by World Bank and Eco-Carbon private limited, was to address the areas of concern and to highlight the positive features and benefits of CDM.

The workshop would also discuss the case studies of successful CDM projects and carry out an in-depth review of baseline and additionality criteria.

Stating that the World Bank officials and delegates from state governments would participate in the workshop, she said two lakh US dollars would be distributed to the FAl-G entrepreneurs, who had enrolled in the CDM programme during the workshop.
