Marandi harps on corruption issue

Jamshedpur, Aug 25 (UNI) Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president Babulal Marandi today said his party was emerging as an alternative force to the UPA and the NDA alliances in Jharkhand.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Marandi said the JVM was the only party which could bail out the State from corruption. and demanded a CBI probe into the mining lease scam.

He also asked the JMM supremo Shibu Soren, who arrived here after his acquittal from murder charges to campaign for the party candidate Suman Mahto for the Jamshedpur Loksabha Bypoll, about his stand on corruption. Mr Marandi said Mr Soren himself went to the then governor in 2006 demanding a probe into the mining lease issue but now the UPA government was ruling but no action was initiated.

Mr Marandi claimed that his party candidate Bikash Mukherjee would win with comfortable margin and the results of this bypoll would be a surprise for everyon.
