'Mahakumbabhishekam' on Aug 30
Chennai, Aug 26 (UNI) The 'Mahakumbabhishekam' of the famous Lord Murugan temple at Vadapalani would be held here on August 30.
The temple consecration would be held between 0830 hrs and 0920 hrs in which more than five lakh devotees were expected to participate, according to Temple Affairs Committee President Sirkazhi G Siva Chidambaram.
He said the temple renovation works were taken up at a cost of Rs two crore through public offerings.
''In order to ensure that the holy water is sprinkled on all devotees, sprinklers will be used'', he said.
The renovation works began in December last year. All the 'Sannidhis' and 'Mandapams' were being renovated.
The 22 ft-tall flag mast and all the 'kalasams' were being made in gold.
