Lightning kills 2 in Chhattisgarh

Korba, Chhattisgarh, Aug 26 (UNI) A woman and her daughter were killed on the spot and seven severely burnt after being struck by lightning while working on a farm in this district's Katghora Ke Chhuri village 20 km from here, police said.

Dhaniram Rohtas' family was working last evening when lightning claimed Sanju Anant (17) and her mother Neerabai (35).

The injured were admitted to the district hospital.

Lightning has killed a total of nine people since July in this district.
