Eight injured as underconstruction building caves in
Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) Four more persons were injured when a floor of an underconstruction 'Mehfil leap' building caved in at Raheja Complex in Chandivali area of Powai here today, taking the total number of injured in the mishap to eight.
The injured have been rushed to the nearby Hiranandani Hospital and two other private hospitals, and the condition of some is said to be serious, a Powai police station official told UNI today.
According to the official, the mishap occurred at around 1730 hours this evening. The building was located near a Municipal school and was not in the list of the dangerous buildings.
The official also said it was supposed to be a 30-35 storeyed building, which was being developed by a private builder in the Raheja Complex, which already has 25 such buildings.
Fire engines were at the spot, with fire-brigade officials and Municipal staff engaged in rescue operation, the official added.
