Earthquake jolts Andaman Islands

Port Blair, Aug 26: An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted several parts of Andaman Islands this morning.

Met officials here said the quake, measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale, had its epicentre near Andaman.

The tremor occurred at 1033 hrs and the epicentre was located at 14.6 degrees North latitude and 93.8 degrees East.

No damage or casualties were reported, Police Control Room officials said.
