Counterfeit currency haul in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Aug 26 (UNI) Four youths have been arrested near the local Shankar Nagar area and counterfeit currency amounting to more than Rs 7 lakh seized following a tip-off, police said.

Imtiaz, Sameer, Akash Ramteke and Naresh Singh -- all hailing from Rajnandgaon -- were stopped, searched and Rs 7,39,400 seized last night. The currency was in denomination of Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they printed the notes at Rajnandgaon.

Their accomplice was apprehended at Rajnandgaon, a machine and other material seized.
