Bomb timed to blast at 2235 hrs defused

Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) Springing into action soon after the blasts, police today found a live bomb planted under the Dilslukhnagar foot overbridge in the city timed to blast at 2135 hrs, and defused it.

Police said a search party found the bomb rapped in a plastic sheet underneath the bridge which was timed to blast at 2135 hrs through a cellphone.

Police started an intensive search of the cinema theatres and the second shows schedueled to begin at 2130 hrs were closed.

I max, the multi-plex theatre on the banks of the Hussai Sagar near the Lumbini Park, scene of one of the blasts, cancelled the rest of its shows for the day soon after the news of the blasts.

The bomb at Dilsukhnagar was planted under the foot overbridge, as most of the people use it to cross to the other side of the road after the first shows at around 2135 hrs, police said.
