BJP, VHP call for H'bad bandh on Aug 27
Hyderabad, Aug 26: The BJP and the VHP today called for a bandh in the city tomorrow to protest against the government's 'soft stand' on fundamental groups and condemned the last night's bomb blasts that claimed over 40 lives.
The workers of the BJP and the VHP took out a rally in Koti area where one bomb went off at Gokul chat centre and burnt Pakistan flags to protest the terrorist activities sponsored by Pakistan-based terrorist outfits in the city.
Talking to newspersons here, the party's state unit President Bandaru Dattatreya said instructions had been issued to ensure that the bandh was peaceful. He said essential services were exempted from the bandh. The bandh call was discussed with the Communist parties and they have extended support, Mr Dattatreya added.
Alleging that Hyderabad had become the 'adda' (hub) of terrorist activities, he demanded stringent measures to prevent such incidents.
