Unclaimed pot sparks panic among devotees in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Aug 25 (UNI) An unclaimed pot covered with a red-coloured cloth left near the premises of Mahalaxmi temple here this evening spread panic among the devotees and the nearby residents that it may contain an explosive material.

Police sources said the security personnel at the temple found the pot covered with red-coloured cloth near a small temple at the Mahalaxmi temple premises, sparking various rumours in the area.

The security personnel then informed the matter to the Western Maharashtra Devastan Committee office-bearers, who immediately informed the police. A bomb disposal squad was dispatched to the spot, which removed the cloth and found no explosive material inside the pot, sources added.
