Two Dawood associates arrested; counterfeit currency seized
Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) The city police have arrested two suspected associates of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and recovered counterfeit currency worth more than Rs two crore from a house in the old city.
Speaking to UNI over phone here, Charminar Division Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) B Reddanna said the Special Task Force police, on a tip-off, recovered the counterfeit currency and effected the arrests.
The STF also recovered original currency worth more than Rs 20 lakh from the arrested. Police were interrogating the arrested to confirm their links with the Dawood gang.
However, top officials of the STF did not disclose the names of the arrested persons.
