Three-day relay hunger strike for safe transport system

New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) today said a three-day long relay hunger strike will be undertaken from August 29 to demand for an accessible, affordable, safe public transport and transport system.

CPI(ML) Delhi secretary Rajendra Prathroli, in a statement, said the party is supporting a large number of democratic organisations, who are joining the strike.

All blueline buses must be incorporated under DTC control, increasing the strength of DTC buses fleet and making the fare affordable were the demands of the CPI(ML)." Also strict action should be taken by the state and Central governments in this regard", Mr Pathroli said.

It has become nightmarish to commute in Delhi, especially for women, senior citizens and the physically challenged thus measures must be taken in this regard, he lamented.
