Solid waste projects important for urban infrastructure
Shimla. Aug 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh's Principal Secretary, Urban Development Deepak Sanan today said the "Solid Waste Management" was one of the important aspects of the urban infrastructure and necessary steps should be taken in matters pertaining to public health related provisions of sanitation and hygiene in an urban area.
In his inaugural address on the occasion of workshop on Integrated Solid Waste Management-Recent Initiatives and Strategies for Implementation, Mr Sanan said, "Solid Waste Management Projects are being presently implemented in 12 urban local bodies of the State and Rs 108.75 lakh Solid Waste Management Project for Mandi town has also been approved by Central pollution Control Board." He called for the urban local bodies to pay attention for maintaining the solid waste management system in their respective areas.

concern
right
from
the
beginning
of
human
civilisation
and
despite
the
fact
concerted
efforts
in
this
regard
needed
to
be
taken
at
all
levels."
