Shivraj Singh Chouhan ministry expanded

Bhopal, Aug 25: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today inducted six ministers and elevated two to Cabinet rank in the first expansion of his nearly two-year-old ministry, taking its strength to 31.

Governor Balram Jakhar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a simple ceremony on the Raj Bhavan lawns.

Besides Mr Chouhan, his Cabinet colleagues, prominent BJP leaders and other dignitaries were present.

The new Cabinet ministers are Dr Gauri Shankar Shejwar, Mr Akhand Pratap Singh and Mr Laxman Singh Gaur, while ministers of state who had been promoted are Mr Nagendra Singh and Mr Laxmikant Sharma.

The three new ministers of state are Ms Ranjana Baghel, Mr Karan Singh Verma and Mr Harenderjit Singh Babbu.
