Sabarimala temple opens for poojas

Pathanamthitta, Aug 25 (UNI) The Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala was opened today for Onam celebrations which begin tomorrow morning.

Melsanthi E Eswaran Nampoothiri opened the sanctum sanctorum at 1730 hrs, and lit the lamps. The rituals will begin from tomorrow morning.

The customary rituals will begin on Sunday, with a 'Ganapathi Homam.' The 'Melsanthi' will host an 'Uthrada Sadya' for the Devaswom staff on August 26 after 'Utcha Pooja.' The hill-shrine will be closed on August 29 evening.
