Power generation restored in SJVN project

Shimla, Aug 25 (UNI) India's biggest Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) 1500 MW power project has started generating power from this evening after the halt of two days.

SJVN General Manager R K Bansal said the silt level in Satluj had decreased below 4,000 particle per million (PPM), which was increased to the level upto 8,600 PPM due to rain and landslides in the region.

All the six units, 250 MW each, had started generating power, which was mainly supplying power to seven states of northern region apart from Himachala Pradesh, he said.

These included Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh Union Territory, he added.
