Patiala placed comfortably against Jalandhar
Patiala, Aug 25 (UNI) In the Punjab Inter-District Under-22 Cricket Tournament semi-final match between host Patiala and Jalandhar, the former is happily placed with 194 for six in 68 overs on the penultimate day here.
Jalandhar were all out for 225 in 84.1 overs yesterday.
Overnight 24 for 1 in 8 overs, Patiala started their innings after delayed start due to sharp showers which rendered the pitch unplayable.
Rajwinder Singh scored a fluent half century (51), sending the cherry to the fence eight times. T S Bawa too, was belligerent and scored 45, hitting 7 fours.
Ravi Inder Singh (31), with 5 fours, and Perry Goyal (30 not out) and S.Mandora (12 not out) contributed to the Patiala total.
When the play resumes tomorrow, Patiala is likely to overtake Jalandhar's modest total.
For Jalandhar, Varun Kumar took 2 wickets, conceding 47 runs and Maninder Singh got 2 for 56.
