Flood victims lathicharged in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur, Aug 25: CRPF jawans yesterday lathicharged the flood victims, who had blocked the Muzaffarpur-Patna road to protest the alleged poor distribution of relief materials by the district administration.

Police said CRPF jawans resorted to mild lathicharge when their repeated persuasions to the flood victims to clear the road failed to yield any result.

The injured had been admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital, police added.

Earlier, hundreds of people, displaced by the flooded Gandak river, had blocked the National Highway 28, disrupting traffic movement.
