Do not project Soren as a martyr : Namdhari

Jamshedpur,Aug 25 (UNI) Independent MLA Inder Singh Namdhari today urged the poeple not to make JMM supremo Shibu Soren a martyr and criticised efforts to extract sympathy from his incarceration.

The former Jharkhand Assembly speaker, who is here to campaign for the NDA-supported BJP candidate Dinesh Sarangi for the August 29 Lok Sabha bypoll, told reporters that the results of this election would send a message to the country's political circle. ''It should not be made an election of sympathy,'' he iterated.

To a question Mr Namdhari said, ''Mr Soren is not a martyr who fought in the Kargil war. His presence will not have any impact on the common people.'' On the presence of former chief minister Babulal Marandi's party Jharkhand Vikas Morcha(Democratic) in the fray,Mr Namdhari expressed concern over division of opposition votes which would favour the UPA candidate.

He said Jharkhand was passsing through a crisis and the opposition should remain united to bail out the state and free it from UPA's 'misrule'.

Regarding his joining any party after severing ties with the JD(U) Mr Namdhari, who won the Daltanganj assembly by-election as an Independent, said, ''Now I am a free bird and till the present Assembly is desolved, I am technically bound to remain an Indepedent.'' About the involvement of Chief Minister Madhu Koda with one Vinod Singh,who amassed huge property during his regime,Mr Namdhari said Mr Koda should clear his stand and order a CBI probe into the allegations against him.
