CPM workers prevent Congmen attack on Left leader

Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 25 (UNI) The CPI (M) activists today prevented Congress workers from attacking CPM State Secretary B V Raghavulu during the second phase of land struggle (Bhooporatam) movement in the district headquarters.

The incident occurred when Mr Raghavulu, who arrived in the town this morning and participated in the programme on the outskirts of the district.

The Congress activists and local leaders who were present at the venue tried to attack the Left leader. However, the Left workers prevented it.

Later, speaking to the newspersons here, Mr Raghavulu alleged that the Congress had resorted to attacks on the Left leaders to supress the movement.

The CPM would not stop the struggle which would continue till the poor got lands and house sites.
