were
presented
at
a
function
here
yesterday
in
the
presence
of
Chief
Minister
Vilasrao
Deshmukh.
CNBC Universe Head of Marketing Ajay Chacko, speaking on the occasion said, ''This is more than just an award .... It is one of India's most comprehensive studies to gauge consumer preference and trends across geographies and demographics. It is a good yardstick for consumers to decide on purchases across 42 product and service categories.'' The upcoming changes in the Indian consumer market will create major opportunities and challenges for Indian and multinational business alike, he pointed out.
Commenting on the CNBC Awaaz Consumer Awards, Mr B Saikumar, COO TV18 Group said, ''India is observing a tidal wave of young adults with 54 per cent of its total population being below 25 years, having high aspirations, increasing buying power and insatiable demand for branded products. CNBC Awaaz Consumer Awards have worked towards understanding these preference of young India.''
