Bihar BJP vice-president resigns

Bettiah, Aug 25 (UNI) Bihar BJP unit vice-president Lal Babu Prasad and other leaders today resigned to protest the treatment meted out to Pradeep Dubey, brother of state MLA Satish Chandra Dubey, by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi's security personnel.

Dubey was allegedly prevented by the security personnel to meet Mr Modi during an official programme in Bettiah yesterday.

Apart from Mr Prasad, BJP president of the district unit Ajay Srivastav, party State executive member Anil Jha and other office bearers in West Champaran district sent their resignation letters separately to BJP state president Radhamohan Singh.

Meanwhile, Mr Singh said the party was looking into the matter and grievances of the leaders on which they put their papers, adding that the issue would be resolved shortly.
