Be ready for mid-term polls: Biswas

Kolkata, Aug 25 (UNI) All India Forward Bloc general secretary Debabrata Biswas today called upon the people to be ready for a mid-term Lok Sabha polls.

"The Lok Sabha polls will be held today or tomorrow and it is necessary to organise workers from the unorganised sector before the polls," he said at a convention of the Trade Union Coordination Centre, Forward Bloc's labour wing.

Mr.Biswas alleged that the Congress-led coalition Government at the Centre had backed out on the assurances it made in the Common Minimum Programme on the basis of which the Left parties were extending outside support to it.

"The people wants alternative at the Centre. It is a challenge for the Left parties to show a new path to the country by mobilising all the labourers belonging to the unorganised sector," he said.

He blamed the Left parties for failing to take advantage and allowing 'communal forces' to fill in the vacuum when Congress had been rejected by people in several states.
