Akali leader arrested in attempt-to-murder case after 35 years
Amritsar, Aug 25 (UNI) Over three and a half decades after the registeration of case of attempt-to-murder, police have arrested a senior Akali leader who was declared as a proclaimed offender in the case.
Darshan Singh Isapur, a former General Secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, was arrested from the civil lines area of the city last evening.
He was wanted in the attempt-to-murder case registered in 1972 in Sadar Police station and was declared a proclaimed offender by court.
He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate here today, who sent him to judical custody till September 8.
