Youth chased by Excise staff drowns

Mandsaur(MP), Aug 24: A youth who was being chased by Excise officials fell into a well and drowned, police said today.

The incident took place at Tajkhedi village in Mandsaur district on Wednesday when the Excise officials raided three shops in its drive against bootlegging.

On being chased by the raiding party, Arvind Singh (26) fell into a well having no parapet and drowned.

Villagers in their complaint alleged that the Excise officials were harassing the youth on framed charge, police added.
