Two killed in building collapse in Nagpur

Nagpur, Aug 24 (UNI) An aged woman and a child were killed and two other injured, when the dilapidated two-storeyed building in which they were living collapsed here yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Jaimala Gulhane (66) and her grandson Yash Anand Gulhane (4), died when the 100-year-old building, in Gandhi Chowk in Sadar area, caved in last evening, fire brigade sources said.

The injured identified as Manju Anand Gulhane (38) and Vaidehi Anand Gulhane (8), have been admitted to hospital, the sources said.

The owner's family, living on the ground floor, managed to escape after noticing dust falling from all parts of the building and realised it was about to collapse, the sources said.

Anand Gulhane, the tenant, was out when the house gave way and hence he escaped, the sources added.
