Ten feared drowned in boat capsize in Bihar

Katihar, Aug 24 (UNI) At least ten people were feared drowned when a boat carrying them capsized midstream in the swollen Ganga near Baluaghati railway station under Maihari police station in Katihar district today.

Deputy Development Commissioner Mithilesh Kumar Singh said the boat ferrying 29 people to Baluaghati from Gujbar village was caught in the high current and capsized.

He said 19 people, however, swam to safety.

Mr Singh said bodies of two children had been fished out, while the rest were being traced with the help of the local divers and fishermen.
