Technical snag forces Indian flight to make emergency landing
Chennai, Aug 24 (UNI) After being air-borne for two hours, a Bangkok-bound Indian aircraft, which developed a technical snag mid-air, returned and made a safe landing at the Anna International Airport here today, making the 102 passengers and nine crew members on board heave a sigh of relief.
Airport sources said after the flight IC 737 took off at 1210 hrs, the pilot noticed a technical snag and immediately alerted the airport authorities here and decided to return.
The airport authorities made all arrangements for an emergency landing, keeping the fire tenders in readiness. However, the pilot made a safe landing at 1415 hrs.
A spare flight was also being readied to fly the passengers to Bangkok, if IC 737 could not be repaired in time, the sources said.
