Sugar prices ease on larger stocks arrival
Navi Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) Sugar prices drifted lower for the fourth consecutive day today on lack of fresh seasonal bulk consumers and retailers demand and large stock arrivals from co-operative mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.
Sugar in small and medium grades eased again by Rs 15 each on renewed offers from stockists and huge stock inflow from mills.
Prices have crashed by over Rs 50 during the last four days.
Ex-mill small and medium grades also declined by Rs ten each due to poor millers demand from local and up-country centres, traders added. Prices declined by Rs 60 in the last sesssions.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,301/1,356, Medium grade: Rs 1,345/1,460.
Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,275/1,310, Medium grade: Rs 1,320/1,425.
