Solar Semiconductor announces supply contract with Q-cells

Hyderabad, Aug 24 (UNI) The city-based Solar Semiconductor, an international company, had signed a multi-year agreement with Q-Cells AG of Germany, the world's largest independent producer of solar cells.

The agreement involved the supply of approximately Rs 680 crore worth 156 MM Mono and Multi-Crystalline Cells. These cells would be used for high quality module production in Solar Semiconductor's new highly-automated Solar PV Modules manufacturing plant in India, according to a release here today.

Solar PV (Photovoltaic) modules were used in the generation of clean power and was among the most promising of renewable energy sources at present.
