Jamshedpur,Aug 24 (UNI) Former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi today denied that JMM supremo Shibu Soren's presence in the Jamshedpur Loksabha bypoll would make any difference.

Mr Soren was acquitted of charges of murder of his secretary by Delhi high court.

Mr Soren is expected to come here to campaign for JMM candidate Suman Mahto, the widow of slain JMM MP Sunil Mahto, for the August 29 bypoll, if he was released from the jail in a day or two.

Mr Marandi said on the contrary, the peole would ask Mr Soren about the eleven months performance of the UPA government in the state.

Mr Soren had campaigned for his party candidates in the past too.

But that had very little impact on the voters, the JVM chief said.

When asked whether there was any political implication in the acquittal of Mr Soren, Mr Marandi said it would not be proper to comment on the court's verdict. But the intention of the CBI would be clear with the next move of the investigating agency.

''It has to be seen whether the CBI will appeal to the apex court against the high court's verdict or try to hush up the case.'' Mr Marandi said.

He said despite a new party JVM candidate Bikash Mukherjee would perform well in the byelection and the party was receiving a tremendous response, particularly in the rural belt.

Reiterating his demand for the dismissal of the UPA government in the state and holding of mid-term poll, Mr Marandi predicted that the Madhu Koda government would fall soon.

He said the JVM would not go for any allinace and decided to contest the next assembly poll on its own.
