Security personnel stage protest in Jalandhar Jail
Jalandhar, Aug 24 (UNI) Security personnel deployed in the Central Jail here today staged protest against the alleged offensive remarks of the Deputy Jail Superintendent.
Punjab Jail Security Association's Jalandhar Jail president Sunder Singh Ladhewal told UNI that nearly 70 security personnel staged protest for nearly an hour against the ''unsavoury'' remarks used by Deputy Jail Superintendent against the security personnel.
In a statement to a varnacular daily, the jail official called the security personnel as 'black sheep', when a bag full of nearly 2500 drug caspsules was found abandoned inside the jail premises yesterday, he said.
The protest was called off after the said official tendered an unconditional apology, Mr Ladhewal said.
