SEBI suspends BSE members registration for a month
Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has suspended the registration of Ramrakh R Bohra, member of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), for a month in connection with their involvement in price manipulation of AKL Soft and Infosys Ltd.
The SEBI, in its order dated August 23, has observed that the broker had aided and abetted its client in manipulation of price and volume of the scrip. The broker had violated provisions of regulation 4(b), (c)&(d) of SEBI (Prohibition of Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practices relating to Securities Market) Regulations, 1995 read with clause A(2) of the Code of Conduct for stock brokers prescribed in Schedule II of SEBI (Stock Brokers and Sub-brokers) Regulations, 1992.
The SEBI order would come in force after the period of three weeks from the date of its issuance, a SEBI release said.
