Jabalpur, Aug 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today upheld the decision of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to close the education centres being run outside the state by the Bhopal-based Bhoj University, as 'appropriate'.

A division bench comprising Justices Deepak Mishra and Shubhadra Devi pronounced the judgement while hearing a petition filed by Chandigarh's Kenum technology and Dehradun's Education Society.

The bench said the students, who have enrolled outside state education centres of the Bhoj University up to 2005, could complete their education by 2008 and termed the admissions taken after 2005 as 'illegal'.

IGNOU counsel contended that the quality of education have suffered outside the state because the administrative control was not effective there.
