Monica allowed to file petition in SC

New Delhi, Aug 24: Monica Bedi, a close aide of underworld don Abu Salem, was today permitted to file an application in the Supreme Court seeking a directive to private television news channels not to show her obscene photographs taken during her stay in the Bhopal jail, some of which, according to her, were morphed. The court will hear at 1400 hrs her petition seeking to restrain the television channels from showing those photographs.

Monica, who was extradited from Portugal in 2005, has since been acquitted in a forged passport case which was pending in Bhopal, while in the Hyderabad case her appeal is pending in the apex court and she is out on bail.

In both cases, she was charged with the offence of travelling on forged passports.
