MK School and MRS Academy keep winning streak
Chandigarh, Aug 24 (UNI) Malwa Khalsa School of Ludhiana and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Hockey Academy of Amritsar recorded their second successive victories in the four-day round league phase of the sixth S N Vohra Sub-Junior Hockey Championship for Under-14 here today.
Malwa Khalsa School defeated Baba Uttam Singh Hockey Academy of Khadoor Sahib by 2-0. Khadoor Sahib Academy put up a plucky fight and held their rivals goalless in the first half.
Malwa Khalsa School pressed hard in the second half and scored two goals through Arshdeep who scored in the 32nd and 55th minutes.
Gagandeep of Malwa Khalsa School was declared the man of the match.
In the second league encounter, powerful Maharaja Ranjit Singh Academy routed GRM School, New Delhi by 6-1 after leading 4-0 at half time.
Lovedeep (4th, 52nd penalty corners), Gurpreet (5th, 25th), Gurbir (10th) and Deepinder (49th, pc) were the winners' scorers.
The lone goal for GRM School was scored by Sumit who converted a penalty corner in the 44th mi8nute. Gurpreet Singh of MRS Academy was adjudged man of the match.
Tomorrow's fixtures include BUSH Academy Khadoor Sahib vs GRM School, New Delhi and Malwa Khalsa School, Ludhiana vs MRS Academy.
