Man sentenced to 10 years RI for killing uncle

Puri, Aug 24 (UNI) First additional sessions judge B K Das has sentenced one Laxmidhar Acharya to ten year rigorous imprisonment for killing his uncle.

According to the prosecution, Laxmidhar Acharya of Bandala village under the Konark police station had stabbed his uncle Behari to death in April, 2005.

Laxmidhar was trying to strangulate his mother when she screamed for help and Behari rushed to save her but was stabbed to death.

The villagers gathered at the spot, overpowered Laxmidhar and seized the weapon.

He was then handed over to police.

A case was registered against Laxmidhar and he was arrested to face trial in the court.

The judgment was pronounced yesterday.
