JAC refusing to take back bodies of two brothers

Imphal, Aug 24 (UNI) The Joint Action Committee(JAC) formed against the brutal killing of two youths on August 22 at Bishenpur district by unknown assailants, has refused to take back the bodies of the two duo.

Two brothers O Binod kumar and O Subash of Bishenpur district were found killed at Ithai, Bishenpur by unknown persons on August 22, the JAC convenor Oinam Ibojao said here today.

He said the committee had demanded Rs three lakh each for the deceased and a judicial inquiry into the incident.

"we want that the murderers be punished," the JAC convenor said.

However, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was against the institution of the judicial probe, he added.

The convenor had demanded clarification from the state government on involvement of any underground outfits in the killings, by tomorrow.

"we won't allow any millitants to enter the area if it is not clarified and will not take back the bodies," the committe said.

The bodies were still lying at the morgue of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
