Heroin worth Rs Six Crore seized--Two arrested
Bangalore, Aug 24 (UNI) The City Police have arrested two persons including former Madhya Pradesh Volleyball Player Anjani Kumar Singh, and seized five kg of Heroin, worth over Rs Six Crore in the International market, Police Commissioner Neelam Achutha Rao said today.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Rao said that the seizure of narcotic substance Heroin was biggest haul in the city so far and investigation were on to unearth its final destination and sources.
Mr Rao said that the arrested included Eisanulla of Pedava village in Jalawar district of Rajasthan and Anjani Kumar Singh of Pipalani Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Anjani Kumar Singh had represented Madhya Pradesh at the national level.
He said that the police pounced on two accused near Berry circle auto stand at Church street in the city last evening following a definite tip-off. The police team lead by Mr B N S Reddy DCP Central Range who are conducting further investigations after getting both the accused into their custody.
