Hamas militant killed in Gaza explosion

Gaza, Aug 24: A Hamas militant was killed in an explosion in the Gaza Strip today in what the Islamist group said was an Israeli attack, but the Israeli army denied any involvement.

Hamas officials said an Israeli attack on a shed in a field east of Gaza City killed one militant and critically wounded another.

An Israeli army spokesman said the military had not carried out an attack.

Hamas officials said the gunmen had been hiding in a shed in a field east of Gaza City scouting Israeli troop positions.
