Govt mulling to identify all inoperative accounts
Hyderabad, Aug 24 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government was mulling to identify all inoperative accounts with government money that were locked in various branches of several banks in the state to utilize them for projects of public interest.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy conducted a review to identify funds locked in inoperative accounts with government money, with Finance Minister K Rosiah and senior officials of Finance deparatment today.
Mr Reddy said all resources pertaining to public were precious and optimum utilization of public funds makes so much difference. It was the duty of any responsible government to retrieve money locked up for years in many inoperative accounts.
He directed the officials to formulate an action plan and take necessary steps for identification of all the inoperative accounts in various banks in the state with the cooperation of state level bankers committee.
