Forex reserves comes down by USD 2.55 bn
Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) The country's Forex reserves came down by almost 2.55 billion US Dollar to 226.445 billion from 228.996 billion dollar by the end of the previous week.
Foreign currency assets also reported a corresponding decrease to 219.103 billion US dollars from 221.653 billion dollars, said RBI in its weekly statistical report today.
India's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the period was slightly down at 453 million dollar from 455 million dollar. However, gold reserves continued to remain unchanged at 6.887 billion dollars.
Aggregate deposits of scheduled commercial banks remained unchanged at Rs 27,68,796 crore during the period. Bank credits remained unchanged at Rs 19,30,103 crore, said the report.
