Dalit Professor beaten

Khargone, MP, Aug 24 (UNI) A dalit professor of a government college in Mandaleshwar here was beaten up by some students on the last day of student unions election today.

Professor Sanjay Prasad had complained to police in this regard.

Regarding some students allegedly having links with the ABVP, Station House Officer C L Darvi said the matter was being investigated.

According to college sources, a student, Jitendra Patidar, arrived along with an outsider Mahendra Yadav while the election procedure for various committees was underway. They misbehaved with the Professor and beat him up. Some other students also reached the spot.

On receiving information, police rescued the Professor.

Ujjain's Madhav College Professor was killed by students irked over postponement of student unions elections last year.
