Court frames charges for threatening e-mail to Sanjay Kapur

New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjiv Jain has framed charges against Rajkumar Wazir Rani for threatening and trying to extort money from the industralist Sanjay Kapur, husband of actress Karisma Kapoor on August 25, 2005.

The accused had an e-mail id in the name of [email protected]. From e-mail id, he sent a threatening e-mail to Sanjay Kapur and demanded Rs 50 crore. In that e-mail, he also made a reference to the gangster Ravi Bhai Pujari.

The special cell of Delhi Police after tracing e-mail id from the cyber cafe located in the Mulund area of Mumbai, arrested the accused on the description of cyber cafe owner Sarvesh Tiwari.

The court framed charges under Section 386 and 506 IPC.
