Congress workers arrested while attempting burn CM in effigy
Shivpuri, MP, Aug 24 (UNI) About 140 Congress workers, including one party legislator, were arrested while they were attempting to burn Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in effigy here today, police said.
Congress workers -- led by district Congress President Lal Saheb and MLA Veerendra Raghuvanshi -- demanded Mr Chouhan's resignation alleging that he was involved in corruption.
Later, the Congress workers were released.
A memorandum was submitted by Congressmen to the adminsitration in support of their demand.
