Border trade affected by highway blockade in Manipur

Imphal, Aug 24 (UNI) Border trade between India and Myanmar was today affected as the Chandel unit of Kuki Students' Organisation(KSO) called by an indefinite bandh in Imphal-Moreh sector of National Highway 39.

KSO sources said the blockade was called to protest the alleged failure of the state government to repair the highway and increase the fare of vehicles plying on the road.

Official sources said talks might be held between the state government and the student leaders to resolve the issue and restore traffic movement on the highway.
