Bomb hoax creates panic among Air Deccan passengers

Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) Panic prevailed in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Domestic airport today when passengers aboard an Ahmedabad-bound flight were evacuated from the aircraft after airport authorities received a call saying a bomb was planted in the aircraft.

The Air Deccan flight DN 705 was coming from Raipur and was bound for Ahmedabad.

'' We received a call saying a bomb was planted in the aircraft.

Following which, we evacuated all the passengers and the crew. A thorough search was carried out, which lasted for nearly two hours, by Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad sleuths. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into service. However, no such object was found and it turned out to be a hoax,'' an airport official said.
