BJP day dreaming on assuming power in K'taka: Dharam
Gulbarga, Aug 24: Predicting that the Janata Dal (Secular) will not transfer power to its alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the opposition leader in the Karnataka Assembly, Dharam Singh opined that the BJP was day-dreaming on the issue. Speaking to newspersons here today, Mr Singh said the JD(S) leaders had started repeating for joining hands with the communal BJP as they found minorities distanced themselves from the party and would not back it in any future election.
''In this situation if JD(S) chose to transfer power to the BJP in October it would prove disaster for the party in the next assembly elections'' he said.
Sharply reacting to the statement of BJP leader Sushma Swaraj that B S Yediyurappa will take over as the next Chief Minister of the state, the senior Congress leader ridiculed it by saying that Sushma Swaraj must had been ''day-dreaming on BJP assuming power in October''.
Replying to a question on the possibility of Congress forming government in the state taking support of JD(S) Mr Singh quipped that it would depend on the decision of the Party High Command.
